Todayβs Knickers of the Day require absolutely no introduction.
Actually, that's a lie.
They require a grand entrance, dramatic lighting and possibly their own theme tune. π
Meet today's little satin show-offs: glossy baby-pink silky knickers covered in fabulous frills and finished with the sweetest satin bow. π
And quite frankly, they're behaving as though they own the place.
π Frills. Satin. Pink. What More Do We Need?
There are sensible knickers.
There are practical knickers.
There are the reliable old pairs lurking at the back of the drawer that have survived approximately 742 washes and really should have retired sometime around 2019.
And then...
There are THESE. π
Shiny satin.
Double frills.
A pretty bow.
And enough pink to make Barbie herself slightly jealous.
These aren't knickers you accidentally grab while half asleep on a Monday morning.
These are "TODAY I HAVE CHOSEN FABULOUS" knickers. πβ¨
π Nobody Needs to Know...
That's one of my favourite things about beautiful underwear.
You could be standing in Tesco comparing the price of baked beans.
You could be putting the bins out.
You could be answering emails while drinking your third coffee of the morning.
Nobody has the slightest idea that underneath your perfectly ordinary outfit you're wearing what can only be described as a tiny pink satin celebration. ππ©·
And I rather like that.
Beautiful lingerie doesn't always have to be for somebody else.
Sometimes it's simply because YOU like it.
π The Frills Are Definitely the Main Character
Can we please appreciate those ruffles?
They're not giving us one polite little frill.
Oh no.
Today's knickers have apparently decided that MORE IS MORE.
The gathered satin waistband creates gorgeous layers of shiny pink ruffles, while the little bow at the front finishes everything off perfectly.
Then turn them around and you get that beautifully smooth, glossy satin back.
Simple.
Shiny.
Fabulous. β¨
Basically, if a cupcake became a pair of knickers...
I think this would be it. π§π
π And Apparently Today Is Rather Perfect for Them...
I discovered something wonderfully appropriate while writing today's Knickers of the Day.
26 August is Women's Equality Day. πͺπ
Now I'm certainly not suggesting that pink frilly knickers were responsible for the progress of women's rights...
But I am saying that women should absolutely be able to wear whatever makes them feel fabulous.
Big knickers.
Tiny knickers.
Plain knickers.
Lacy knickers.
Frilly pink satin knickers that look like they've escaped from the world's fanciest dressing room.
Your underwear. Your choice. π©·
And while we're talking about today's celebrations, it's also International/National Dog Day. πΆ
So apparently today's instructions are:
Love women.
Love dogs.
Wear fabulous knickers.
