"What's it really like running an online lingerie boutique?"
Some imagine I spend my days surrounded by beautiful silky satin knickers, drinking tea and wrapping pretty parcels.
Well...
They're not completely wrong! 😂
But behind every order, every blog and every photo is a lot of hard work, a lot of learning and—most importantly—a lot of love.
So today I thought I'd share the Top 10 reasons why I absolutely love running Gloss Glam.
💖 1. Making Someone Smile
Nothing beats receiving a message that says,
"My parcel arrived and I absolutely love it!"
Knowing that something I've packed has brightened someone's day is the best feeling.
Sometimes it's not just about the lingerie...
It's about how it makes someone feel.
📦 2. Packing Every Order With Care
I genuinely love packing orders.
Wrapping them neatly.
Checking everything twice.
Adding the finishing touches.
I always imagine someone opening their parcel with a smile.
That little moment means everything to me.
🩲 3. Discovering Beautiful New Lingerie
Let's be honest...
This is one of the perks!
Every time I discover a gorgeous new satin set, a pair of playful bloomers or beautifully detailed knickers, I get excited all over again.
It's a dangerous job for someone who loves lingerie!
☕ 4. Tea Is Part of the Business Plan
Running Gloss Glam has officially confirmed one thing...
Tea is essential.
Listings are written with tea.
Blogs are written with tea.
Orders are packed with tea.
If the kettle isn't on...
Something probably isn't getting done!

Photographing lingerie is one of my favourite creative jobs.
Sometimes it's quick.
Sometimes satin decides it wants to reflect every single light in the room!
But when everything comes together...
The results are worth it.

One of the biggest surprises has been the wonderful people I've met.
Women treating themselves after a long week.
Men discovering silky satin for the first time.
Couples shopping together.
People celebrating birthdays, anniversaries or simply wanting something beautiful.
Every customer has their own story.
And I love being a tiny part of it.
🌸 7. Writing These Blogs
Honestly...
This has become one of my favourite parts of every day.
I sit down with my cup of tea and imagine we're all chatting together.
Sometimes we laugh.
Sometimes we talk about confidence.
Sometimes we admire beautiful knickers.
It never feels like writing.
It feels like having a conversation with friends.
😂 8. Every Day Is Different
One day I'm photographing bloomers.
The next I'm answering customer questions.
Then I'm writing a funny blog.
Then packing parcels.
No two days are ever the same.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
🌷 9. Watching My Dream Grow
Gloss Glam started as an idea.
A little dream.
Now...
Every order.
Every blog.
Every comment.
Every new follower.
Feels like another tiny step towards building something truly special.
Watching that dream grow is incredibly rewarding.

If someone had asked me a year ago what I'd be most proud of...
I probably would have said my business.
Today...
My answer is different.
I'm proud of this community.
The Satin Circle.
A place where we can chat about lingerie, laugh together, celebrate confidence and remind each other that life's little luxuries really do matter.
That means more to me than I can put into words.

Running a small business isn't always easy.
There are long days.
Unexpected challenges.
Moments when you wonder if you're doing enough.
But then...
A customer leaves a lovely review.
Someone comments on a blog.
A parcel arrives safely.
And suddenly...
You remember exactly why you started.
For me, Gloss Glam has never been just about selling lingerie.
It's about helping people feel confident, comfortable and just a little bit more special.
And if I can make even one person smile each day...
Then I'd call that a pretty wonderful job.
