Hopefully a few more than a dollar! 😂
Running a small online lingerie boutique is a funny old job.
Some people imagine I spend my days surrounded by silky satin knickers, drinking tea and wrapping pretty parcels.
To be fair...
They're not entirely wrong.
But they don't see everything else that happens behind the scenes.
So I thought today I'd let you join me for a typical day at Gloss Glam.
☕ 8:30am...
First things first.
The kettle goes on.
There is absolutely no way I can start work without a proper cup of coffee.
Laptop?
On.
Emails?
Waiting.
Coffee?
Essential.
Priorities, of course.
📦 Time To Check Orders
The first thing I always do is check whether any lovely customers have been shopping overnight.
That little notification saying,
"You've made a sale!"
Never gets old.
I don't care whether it's my first order or my thousandth...
It still makes me smile every single time.
(Okay...
Sometimes I might even do a tiny happy dance.)
I love the sound of katching!!
🩲 Then Comes The Big Decision...
Which silky satin knickers are today's stars?
Some need photographing.
Some need measuring.
Some need listing.
Some simply sit there looking so pretty that I end up admiring them instead of working.
Occupational hazard.

📸 The Great Photo Shoot
Today's mission...
Take product photos.
Sounds easy...
Until satin decides to reflect every bit of light in the room.
Move the camera.
Move the lighting.
Smooth the fabric.
Take another photo.
Move the bow slightly.
Take another photo.
Realise there's a tiny crease.
Start again.
Who knew photographing knickers could be such hard work?
💻 Writing Listings
Then it's time to convince the world that this isn't just another pair of knickers.
Because honestly...
Every pair has something special.
The lace.
The bows.
The satin.
The colours.
The tiny details.
I genuinely enjoy writing descriptions because I get to tell their little story.
📦 Packing Time
One of my favourite parts of the day.
Wrapping each order.
Checking everything twice.
Adding tissue paper.
Making sure everything looks beautiful.
I always imagine someone opening their parcel and smiling.
That's the best part.
😂 Then...
Something distracts me.
Usually...
Another gorgeous pair arrives from my suppliers.
Now I have a serious decision to make.
Should I photograph them first...
Or admire them for ten minutes?
Let's be honest...
It's usually the second one.
☕ Afternoon Tea Break
By this point...
I've somehow managed to drink three cups of tea.
I have absolutely no idea how that happens.
Tea just seems to disappear when you're busy.
Does anyone else have that problem?
🌸 Looking Ahead
One thing I always make time for is writing these blogs.
They've become one of my favourite parts of running my boutique.
Not because they help sell lingerie...
But because they help me get to know all of you.
Reading your comments.
Hearing your stories.
Laughing together.
That's exactly the little community I dreamed of creating.
And every single one of you is helping make that dream come true.

Another day...
Another dollar.
Another cup of tea.
Another beautiful pair of silky satin knickers.
Another happy customer.
And another reminder that doing something you genuinely enjoy never really feels like work.
Well...
Most of the time.
Until I have to untangle ribbon.
That's another story entirely.
